Mr. Zach Zimmerman, M.Ed.
Principal, Tempe Campus
Zach Zimmerman started at the Austin Centers in 2007 as a therapeutic support staff and quickly developed a passion for working with students with special needs. He was the first staff member in the east valley Rising Stars program and worked as a 1:1 aide with a student with autism before deciding to pursue a career as a special education teacher.
He attended Northern Arizona University and was the standard bearer for the College of Education before obtaining his teaching certificate in special and general education. He has taught in the Exceptional program as well as Rising Stars, and was the Rising Stars Program Coordinator at the Gilbert campus from 2019-2021. He was the Assistant Principal in Gilbert for the 2021-2022 school year before returning to Tempe in the Principal role to start the 2022/2023 school year. In his personal time, Zach enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, camping, snowboarding and enjoying all things outdoors.
