A sensory room is a therapeutic space specially designed to engage a person’s senses and help facilitate greater overall participation.

Creating calm and focus

Each of our sensory systems works in a different way; because of this, our sensory needs vary. For this reason, sensory activities are individualized for each student’s needs and may include activities to help calm or alert their nervous systems to help them best focus in the academic setting.
