Mr. Anthony Pozar, M.Ed.
Superintendent of Schools/ VP of Operations
Anthony joined Austin Centers team in August 2006. Mr. Pozar started his professional career with Austin Centers at the Peoria campus as a Junior High School and Jumpstart Vocational teacher. In addition to teaching, he served as the Junior High School Coordinator and Extended School Year Coordinator for 4 years. When Austin Centers opened the Avondale Campus in 2010, Mr. Anthony was a clear choice to continue Austin Centers student success stories by becoming campus Principal first in Avondale and then principal of the Peoria campus until being promoted to Superintendent of Schools in 2023. Mr. Anthony excels at communicating with his students’ families, school districts and support systems, while making them feel acknowledged, informed and comfortable with the education they will receive at Austin Centers.
Before joining Austin Centers, Mr. Anthony graduated from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. There, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education grades K through 12 and received educational training with experiences in all special education areas including Autism, Mild to Severe Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, as well as other exceptionalities. Since moving to Arizona, Mr. Anthony has converted his out of state certifications to an AZ Cross-Categorical Certificate in K-12 Special Education as well as his Principal Certificate. Mr. Anthony received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Principalship through Northern Arizona University.
When away from Austin Centers, Anthony, his wife Brianne, and their two children, Noah and Bella are enjoying their lives in Arizona and the family time they spend together camping, traveling, and enjoying sporting events.
