Leigh Trainor started working at The ACES in 2004. While at The ACES, she taught junior high and high school age students in both the Junior High program and the Jump Start program. She has held the Coordinator position for Rising Stars, Jump Start, and Junior High as well as campus administrator for Extended School Year. Leigh has a BS in special education from Arizona State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Before joining The ACES, she taught K-8th grade special education students and was an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist for students on the autism spectrum.
Leigh is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and moved to Arizona over 20 years ago. She always knew she wanted to work with children. She realized her calling was to work with special needs students while participating in a community outreach program in high school. She enjoys watching her two daughters play and excel at their choice of activities as well as spend time together hiking, biking, or taking walks with her golden retriever Midas.
Leigh is honored and privileged to be principal of such a wonderful and vibrant campus. She believes one of the most important aspects of her work is building solid relationships with students, families, and teachers. She is passionate about helping students achieve academic success, improve behaviorally, and providing students with vocational training so they may become successful independent members of society.
